FAQ on the vaccine registration platform
Registering for the vaccine
How do I register for the vaccine?
As soon as you have completed the pre-booking process, you will receive a link by e-mail or text message to make an appointment on the booking platform. Click on the invitation link to get to the registration platform. Click on the yellow field “Anmeldung starten” (start registration) and you will be sent a TAN code by e-mail or text message. For security reasons, you need to enter this code in the corresponding field on the registration platform. If required, you can request a new TAN code at any time.
In the next step, you can choose the district and the vaccination centre where you would like to receive your vaccine. Next, you will be asked to select a time slot (day and time). Your appointment will now be confirmed by e-mail or text. The confirmation message will also contain your personal vaccination ticket and an information leaflet.
Can I see the vaccine I’ll be getting when registering? Will I be able to select the vaccine?
Yes. The invitation to register already specifies which vaccine you will be getting. You will receive a confirmation by e-mail or text. Please note that you cannot choose a specific vaccine.
I accidentally deleted my vaccination ticket or the text message/e-mail with the invitation link. Can I get it again?
Please send your first name, surname, social insurance number, mobile phone number and/or e-mail address by e-mail to email@example.com or call the Carinthian coronavirus advice hotline on 050 536 53003. The vaccination ticket and/or invitation link will be resent.
I have pre-booked the vaccine for myself and for another person using the same mobile phone number/e-mail address. Can we both register for the vaccine? Will we be sent the invitation link twice?
Each person will be sent a separate invitation. In the invitation and during the registration process that follows, you will see the name and surname of the person who is registering. This avoids any possibility of confusion. IMPORTANT: Not all persons from the same family who have registered will be invited and vaccinated at the same time! Appointments are allocated according to clearly defined criteria, which may differ from person to person, even if everyone pre-booked their appointment at the same time.
I don’t have a smartphone, just a mobile phone without Internet access. I also don’t have an e-mail address. What should I do?
To register, an invitation link will be sent to your mobile phone number by text message. You may forward this text message to a person you trust who does have a smartphone, or to your municipal office. This person or the official in charge at your municipal office can then click on the link and complete the registration process with you, ideally by telephone. If you have a computer with Internet access, you may also type the link from the text message into your Internet browser.
As a next step, a so-called TAN code will be sent your mobile phone. You need to enter the TAN code on the registration platform to confirm your appointment. Once you have completed the registration process, you will be sent a link to your vaccination ticket by text message. Again, you will need to forward this link to a person you trust or to your local municipal office or type it manually into the Internet browser on your computer. You may then print out your vaccination ticket.
I have given the e-mail address/mobile phone number of a person I trust or of my municipal office when pre-booking my vaccine slot. What should I do now?
In this case, the person of trust or your municipal office will receive the invitation link for your vaccine registration. The person of trust or the municipal office needs to contact you and help you complete the registration process. You should pick a place and a time slot for your vaccination together, ideally by telephone. Once you have completed the registration process, the person of trust or your municipal office will be sent your vaccination ticket electronically. The vaccination ticket needs to be printed and sent or given to you.
Changes to the booking
Can I amend or cancel my booking?
Yes. To do this, open the invitation to register for the vaccination that you received by e-mail and/or text message. The invitation contains the TAN confirmation code and the start link for the booking process as well as the slot that you booked. Click on the yellow field “Termin absagen” (cancel appointment). You will now be asked if you really want to cancel your appointment. Confirm this by clicking on “OK”. Via your invitation to register for the vaccine, you may book a new slot in the current vaccination campaign at any time.
What happens if I miss my appointment?
You will receive a second invitation and/or a reminder to register again. If you fail to do so or also miss the second appointment, you will be removed from the pre-booking system and have to make another pre-booking.
Other questions on registering for the vaccine
I did not receive a TAN code or the TAN code I entered is invalid. What’s going on?
Please note that it might take a few minutes to receive your TAN code by text message. Do not click on “TAN erneut anfordern” (request TAN again) repeatedly. Instead, wait a few minutes before requesting another TAN code. Use the last TAN code your received. It will be valid for 10 minutes.
The group I belong to is already being vaccinated, but I have not yet been notified. Why is that?
It is possible that you are not receiving a notification because you have put in a wrong e-mail address or mobile phone number. It is also possible that you have made a mistake when putting in your date of birth or specifying which group you belong to. However, it is also possible that you are not yet eligible for the vaccine used in the vaccination campaign due to your age.
What do I need to bring with me?
Your vaccination ticket, photo ID (passport, ID card, driving licence), your e-card or social insurance number (if available), the consent form https://www.sozialministerium.at/Corona-Schutzimpfung/Corona-Schutzimpfung---Durchfuehrung-und-Organisation.html and a confirmation that the information you provided when registering for the vaccine was correct. This means that you need to prove that you belong to a risk group or have medical pre-conditions (medical certificate is required) or that you belong to a specific occupational group (information from employer, institution, organisation etc.) You will not be vaccinated if you fail to present these documents. You will also not be vaccinated if it turns out that you provided false information.
I don’t have a printer. Do i really need to print out the vaccination ticket? Can’t I show it on my phone?
You may also present the vaccination ticket with the QR code on your phone.
What is the waiting list?
The waiting list refers to a list of persons who have received an invitation to register for the vaccine but were unable to book a specific slot. There is a separate waiting list for each vaccination centre and day.
What’s the point of the waiting list?
The waiting list aims at distributing the available doses even more efficiently. The goal is not to discard any vaccine doses and to have none left over.
How can I get my name on the waiting list?
First of all, you need to receive an invitation link by e-mail and/or text message. You cannot get on the waiting list without an invitation. If you have received an invitation link and the vaccination centre of your choice is booked on the day you requested, you have the option of being placed on the waiting list. You need to indicate whether you would like to be on the list or not clicking on “Ja, bitte in die Warteliste aufnehmen” (Yes, put me on the waiting list) or "Nein, nicht in die Warteliste eintragen” (No, don’t put me on the waiting list). You need to enter your mobile phone number to be placed on the waiting list.
What happens once I’m on the waiting list?
Persons who are on the waiting list may be contacted by telephone and move up the list if people who have booked a slot fail to show for their appointment, which means that there are vaccine doses left over. Please note that a place on the waiting list is not a guarantee for receiving the vaccine on a certain day. However, make sure that you are available by telephone on the day in question.
What happens if I was on the waiting list and no one called me?
You will receive a new invitation and will receive the vaccine at the earliest possible date.
How long is the waiting list valid?
The waiting list is only ever valid for the vaccination centre in question and only on a specific day. It is then deleted automatically.
When will I receive my second dose?
The second dose is given four weeks after the first dose with Moderna, three weeks after the first dose with BioNTech-Pfizer, or eleven weeks after the first dose with AstraZeneca. You will receive the second dose at the same vaccination centre and at the same time as your first dose. You will be sent a reminder with your vaccination ticket one week before your second dose, by e-mail and/or text message.
